We all have heard the phrase “drive for show and putt for dough”. This shows how important driving is to your game of golf. If you don’t drive for show and put the ball right down the middle in the fairway you can forget about putting for dough.
It goes without saying that knowing how to drive a long, straight shot off the tee will enhance your golf game. This in turn allows you to hit a better shot at the hole.
The reason why many high handicap golfers can’t actually use a driver is the fact that they use too little loft. This results in their inability to get the ball in the air and they put too much side spin on it. If you are one of them, go for a club with more loft like three wood or use a 12 degree driver which would not only give the ball more “carry”, but also less side spin and you would hit better shots.
Many weaker and older people who can’t produce fast club head speed need to go for more loft. This is why the more lofted clubs can actually help them out.
The following are some other tips to that would help you in driving more consistently:
1) Choose a specific target like the flag to aim at in the distance. However the target could be something else when the sign of the flag is not obvious.
2) Address the ball with it positioned just to the inside of the heel of your front foot. As you use higher-lofted club heads, gradually move the ball position toward the middle of your stance but the ball should never be in the middle of your stance. If you are in a driving range, make sure you are aiming correctly by laying out your stance outline on the ground and aiming directly at a target mark.
3) Take a stance just a bit wider than shoulder width to provide a solid and stable base. As you begin your swing, take the club back at the exact pace as when you coil and rotate your hips. This means that your shoulders and arms should remain on the same plane and should work as one turning unit.
4) The club face should be closed when it hits the ball. Use a longer length driver and or jumbo head if it is comfortable and efficient for you. You have to strike the ball in the center of the wood driver.
5) Guide the wood driver with your non-dominant hand for a clean, powerful swing. Allow your dominant hand provide the support.
5) It is better to concentrate on hitting the ball straight even if you have to scarify a few yards.
6) There is nothing more exciting than hitting a long straight drive right down the middle of the fairway between the trees. Always visualize this before you hit each drive.

I’ve often stated just how important comfort and mental clarity is for doing martial arts. What you wear and how you feel about it goes a long way to defining your state of mind while practicing the art form. I found that out the hard way when I started practicing. I did not have the right clothes and it made a difference in how I felt.
Believe you me, being in the right gear can change everything about how you approach training or competing the field of martial arts. It made a difference to me, I can tell you. When you are fighting or training and your pants or shirt just don’t feel right, it can ruin your concentration. I have been there before. You wouldn’t lift weights or play baseball in a 3 piece suit or dress. Martial arts is no different.
But with the right gear, it just, I don’t know, it just feels right. Everything flows better, easier and faster because of what you are wearing. It has a calming or even energetic effect on your mental state of being when you wear clothing that fits well and looks good. Colors can influence the mood of people. I like blue and gray and when I wear those colors to practice or fight in, I feel better, more powerful.
Luckily for all of us martial artists, there has been an explosion of sorts in the sport and that means there is plenty of great clothing to be had. We have so many great t-shirts and different styles to chose from, it makes picking what you want to wear easy. Actually, the only hard part I found about it was deciding what to wear! There were too many items that I liked when I went searching online for all the available mixed martial arts clothing.
All the greats in the sport are starting to pick up on this new and exciting fashion trend. I am proud to wear it. It is like being part of a brotherhood. It feels really nice to support a sport that has been so good to me. They have hats, t-shirts and all kinds of bottoms to wear while you are training and even competition gear to let you really get it on.
Many UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) fighters wear this stuff and I think it looks pretty sweet. I know the chicks dig it because I get a lot of comments when I dress for success. It is amazing how much more confidence you have when you wear something that gives you that unique feeling of comfort and functionality.
Are there posers? Of course. A fat guy in a Colts or Bears jersey probably doesn’t play football. A skinny runt in a New York Rangers hat usually doesn’t skate backwards. Just because a fat guy has on a TapOut or Submit Gear tshirt doesn’t mean he does or doesn’t know jujitsu.
I can not more highly recommend picking up some mixed martial arts clothing and trying it out yourself. If something is not feeling right about your training routine, it might be the clothes you are wearing. I know switching made a big difference in my life. Plus, what is better than representing your sport by decking yourself out in the latest fashion in your chosen sport?

Identify your individual needs – The first thing to consider prior to purchasing sportswear apparel is your individual needs. The type of clothing you require will depend on whether you train outside or in a gymnasium, the particular activity you take part in and the amount of time you spend training on a weekly basis. Once you have a general idea of your own requirements the easier it will be to choose the best sportswear clothing for you.
Quality – One crucial aspect to consider, when purchasing sportswear clothing, is the quality of the materials. Although it is easy to opt for the cheapest item of apparel if you train on a regular basis you will need clothing of high quality to withstand regular wear. Choose high quality garments that are durable to avoid having to replace your sportswear after a short period of time.
Comfort – Choosing the right sportswear clothing can really improve your performance and comfort plays a huge role in this. The latest sportswear is designed to keep you comfortable to ensure you perform at your best. A great example of this is sports socks. Although only an accessory, wearing sports socks that are specifically designed for sport can reduce the possibility of blisters.
Price – Investing in high quality sportswear clothing needn’t cost a fortune. Going online for your sportswear can save you money and is one of the best places to grab a bargain. Take advantage of discount clothing prices online and replace your existing sportswear at an affordable price that won’t stretch your budget.

The most important thing about being an “all-star athlete” is having a high level of comfort while performing. After playing basketball for almost 12 years, I can honetly say that is a true statement. A uniform does not only consist of the outer gear that is most noticeable; in fact, the most important part of the uniform is found under the initial set of garments. Compression shorts in particular.
Compression shorts are worn under the shorts or pants of the athlete. When these shorts are worn they accomplish many things that people often take for granted or are just simply unaware of. They improve comfort level, prevent injuries, and enhance performance to name a few.
First let’s address comfort level. Playing sports, or being active in general, require a lot of movement. If the right “undies” are not worn then everything underneath the initial uniform slides dramatically anywhere and everywhere possible. These frequent movements have the capabilities of making one feel very uncomfortable. Thankfully, the athletic compression shorts, also known as athletic tights, were designed and they are indeed a problem solver for this particular situation. When the compression shorts are worn, a firm grip applies pressure to the lower body. Also, note that the right amount of pressure is evenly applied because of the special material the shorts are made of. This grip makes it impossible for any type of loose movement to occur, which in most cases is a relief.
Compression shorts are also known to prevent upper leg injuries, mainly the larger muscle groups. They increase blood circulation and also trap heat inside of the shorts. This feature allows the muslcles to stay warm and active when you’re not moving. Personally, I can say this is one of the best qualities of compression shorts because allowing your muscles to cool down while resting is not a good feeling when it comes time to play again. This is an easy way to pull quads and hamstrings. These shorts are also good for absorbing contact. They are made with small cushioned pads on the outsides that shield the large muscles, so if they are hit the pain will be minimized.
Perspiration is also a big issue when being active. The material also absorbs sweat so the sweat doesn’t stick to the athlete. The material allows you to sweat in order to maintain a balanced temperature within your body, and at the same time give you a comfortable dry feeling of fabric on your skin. This should always be a plus factor.
Some studies show that athletes perform better when wearing athletic compression shorts. All the qualities that the shorts are capable of having can vouch for the previous statement. These shorts can be found in all athletic apparel stores. The colors vary to match all school colors. Coordination and style is also very important in athletics.
Athletic compression shorts can play a big part in an athlete’s performance. In addition to compression shorts, there are other apparels, such as shirts and socks, that enhance other parts of the body.
In conclusion, the missing link for you becoming an “all-star athlete” could simply be the purchase of a pair of athletic compression shorts. I love being the best don’t you?

Top tips for staying warm and comfortable in the best performance bicycle clothing
Many people ask me what the secret is to comfortable padding, and the answer is not as you might think, in quantity but in quality. The padding in our men’s shorts is contoured for a good fit, and perforated to help keep you cool. These days the padding is made from a special fabric which looks similar to the old fashioned ‘chamois’ leather, but is actually synthetic, with quick drying properties for better comfort, and easy to wash and care for. Women’s padding is CD Special Soft Seamless padding, which molds to your shape as you sit upon your saddle, and has been found to be the best solution for comfortable cycling for very many women.
Cycling shorts, padded underwear and cycle tights must be snug enough to hold the padding snuggly in place so that it doesn’t move about. If shorts are too loose the padding will shuffle about with the pedaling action, and either crease or move out of position. Either will cause chafing and make you sore.
In the summer when the weather is warm and comfortable (!) a top can be a loosish fit which suits most people. It doesn’t want to be too loose or it will flap about in the breeze. However, in the winter, close fitting layers will give much better insulation, and prevent cold air from ‘flushing’ down the inside of the garment.
Wearing a combination of thin layers works very well towards keeping your body comfortable whilst exercising. The reason for this is that it is much easier to adjust the total amount of warmth you get from your clothing if you can add or remove one thin layer at a time to get the optimum insulation. For this reason most of our clothing is moderately light weight, and when used in various different combinations will ensure your best comfort and therefore a more enjoyable ride.
Your wrists are a vitally important part of your body to protect from cold.
Keeping them warm will go a long way to keeping your hands warm & comfortable, and indeed the rest of your body. For this reason our long sleeve tops and jackets have very generous cuffs, with a double layer of fabric. This helps to ensure your best comfort and therefore a more enjoyable ride.
The special fabrics used for performance sportswear, and particularly chosen for our cycle range, have a technical property called ‘Wicking’. This means moisture (seat) is absorbed by the inside of the fabric, and transferred to the outside surface where it will quickly evaporate. This means the garment dries out quickly, and you the wear stay more comfortable. Such fabrics also tend to stay relatively warm whilst they are damp.
What is the best way to care our Performance CycleWear? The happy answer is: ‘The easy way’. It is my firm belief that sportswear must be easy to care for, so all our soft fabrics can machine washed, spun, tumbled and or line dried. They need no special treatments, and no special washing powders. Just use your normal coloured’s powder or liquid, the clothing responds quite happily.
One last point though: Do Not Use Fabric Conditioners! These make fabrics more water absorbent, and with our high wicking, quick drying fabrics, we are trying to make the garments as water un-absorbent as possible. (This applies to all sportswear)
So there you have it!

Sports apparel for men today is not the same as they used to be. Sports apparel today make use of fabrics that employ technology to offer the wearer more comfort and fit even when used for long periods. Fabrics being used for most sportswear today are of lightweight and quick drying micro-fiber material which can expand and also allows moisture to flow out of the fabric in order to keep the wearer dry inside as well as to make moisture evaporate faster. The fabric used is also durable as well as versatile, offering to protect the wearer as well as provide utmost comfort in any type of condition.
Sports apparel today is not only designed for function, most garments today also employ designs that make them more fashionable. For whatever type of sport an individual plays, it has become an important issue to look good with whatever sports apparel one wears. Sports apparel designers are already putting this on top of their priorities when designing such garments.
That is why today, there are a number of body hugging me sports apparel available that not only functions well in terms of comfort and fit but also provide the wearer to show off a well-formed body structure. Fitness buffs always are proud of their bodies and body hugging performance sports wear can help them look good further.
It is still important for fitness and sports buffs to wear proper sports and fitness wear. Different types of sports require different types of outer wear. If you are into running, the proper running gear would require running apparel such as a running shirt and shorts that allow excellent breathability to prevent feeling wet and uncomfortable while running long distances. New running wear designs make use of such fabrics that help keep out sweat and moisture to keep the wearer always feeling dry and cool inside. Same goes with running shorts and pants.
Although it was appropriate then to wear cotton when running, it can sometimes hamper performance. Cotton can easily absorb perspiration that can become heavy and feel very wet and can make running a bit uncomfortable. It would be better for you to choose a sports apparel that allows your perspiration to evaporate a lot faster such as what newer running wear are capable of doing.
The proper running shoes can also help in improving your performance as well as keep your body well cushioned while running. The right type of shoes would usually depend on the kind of feet that you have. Each type would require different shoes and the level of stability and cushioning that your feet would ultimately need.
If you have normal arches, the best running shoe choice for you is the pair that offers you the balance between impact cushioning and stability. If you have low arches, shoes that offer better motion support and firm mid-soles and greater stability. For high arches, a pair of shoes that offer plenty of cushioning should be preferred.
