Creative writings of Imogen Reed
Imogen Reed is a freelance writer and mentor and lives in London with her long-term partner. She was born and raised in New York, but moved to the UK in her early teens where she completed her secondary education and went on to achieve a first class degree in English Literature and Creative Writing.
Imogen travelled in South America, before returning to the UK and taking a job as a journalist on a regional newspaper where she stayed for three years before completing an MA in journalism. She also holds informal writing workshops at her local library, which have a heavy focus on proofreading your own work, and balancing your life. This is due to her belief that to be a good writer one must be a great editor and time manager.
Imogen writes on a diverse range of subjects. She has several irons in the fire and is especially interested in the rights of children and minorities, health and environmental issues, graphic design and photography, as well as travel, food and animals. So far, she has visited twenty five countries. Imogen has an African Grey parrot who requires endless entertaining, and two rescued Staffordshire bull terriers. Her pets (and partner!) never cease to inspire her.
Imogen is an avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction. She also writes book reviews. She has been freelance now for five years, maintaining a good balance between her regular clients and one-off commissions.
